This post combines my 2 favorite things in life - photography + Disney. What better way to snap back from my blogging hiatus than with A VINTAGE DISNEY THEMED BIRTHDAY PARTY!! One of the first things to know about me is that my love for Disney runs DEEP! So many of my favorite memories from childhood to now involve the House of Mouse. So when my friend asked if I was available to photograph this party for her daughter - you bet your cute little booty I was ALL ABOUT IT!
If you asked me what kind of birthday parties I had when I was a kid, I would easily + quickly tell you, “Oh, usually a family party at my house along with a couple friends. Play in the background, food + cake.” That is not the case for lucky kids nowadays. Birthday parties have graduated to becoming full blown events + I ain’t mad at it! When I showed up to Emilie’s birthday party, I was blown away at how next level the design/decor were!
It helps that Emilie’s mom is party planner extraordinaire, Jeanne Do/Little Confetti Company. All of Jeannie’s events are so well thought out + themed perfectly!
None of the details of this vintage Disney themed party went overlooked. From the moment you arrived, you were greeted with your choice of Mickey or Minnie ears! There was a Small World wall that you could take a group/family photo or selfie in front of that was across from the ticketbooth that distributed copies of the original Disneyland map on opening day!
The main room, full of Disney memorabilia - both current + vintage vibes, delighted guests of all ages with its nostalgic memories.
Plus, the one + only Minnie Mouse made an appearance to celebrate with the birthday girl + her friends!
But one of my favorite areas at the party was the cake/dessert display. Who can say no to a beautifully ballooned table full of treats!
I could go on forever about this party but I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. Needless to say, everyone had an amazing time + I think I’ll need to plan a party just like this for myself someday!
